Fairfax, VA – May 2, 2008 - ECS has been recognized with the Fantastic Fifty award for 2008 by the Virginia Chamber of Commerce. The 2008 award represents the 5th consecutive year that ECS has been recognized by the Virginia Chamber of Commerce for excellence in growth.
As a whole the Fantastic 50 represents the fifty fastest growing companies in the state. Hugh Keogh, President and CEO of the Virginia Chamber of Commerce, stated that the Fantastic 50 award "represents the diversity and vibrancy of small businesses throughout Virginia. The [awardees'] entrepreneurial spirit fuels the economic engine of the Commonwealth." The awards ceremony was held May 1, 2008 in Chantilly, Virginia at the Westfields Marriott. Syndicated columnist, Verne Harnish was the keynote speaker at the ceremony.
ECS President Roy Kapani stated that "the employees and management team of ECS are honored to have been recognized by the Virginia Chamber of Commerce. ECS’ growth and 4th consecutive award by the Chamber is further evidence of the high quality and customer centric nature of the services ECS provides."
Nominations for the Fantastic 50 were sought statewide from local chambers, economic development organizations, small business development centers and through the sponsors' networks. To be eligible, companies were required to be privately held, with headquarters in Virginia, and to show sales revenue between $200,000 and $100 million. They were judged on a four-year sales revenue history. Verification of all award entries was conducted by the accounting firm of Goodman and Company.
